As I mentioned last time, I was rubbish at blogging for most of 2012, for reasons mostly beyond my control which I won't bore you with now. But it's true to say that I didn't tell you, dear readers, about a lot of what I did, including a few magazines and anthologies I had poems in. Anyway, I ended up having a Christmas which was, on the surface, all that Christmas should be, but which felt rather different on the inside. I still identified with the story and festivities of Christmas, but was suddenly finding it very difficult to articulate why, and probably for the first time in my life. For a good several months now there's been a sudden lack of direction (if you call several months 'sudden' -- it's certainly felt like it to me), creatively, mentally, physically and spiritually. Which is a lot of 'ly's, I think you'll agree.
So I was happily shocked and stunned to find that I'd been mentioned in the Huffington Post by Robert Peake, as one of 5 British Poets to Watch in 2013. The news came exactly when I needed it, and, along with a few other things (like dinner here tonight), means quite a literarily awesome beginning to 2013.
Happy New Year indeed. Let's hope it stays this happy as it grows older.

It's about time you showed up here again! And congrats (one more time) on showing up in the Huff.
